Dear Datamonsters,
the last meeting of 2025 in the Monsterhorde Ruhrgebiet will take place on 3rd of December at the Milestone Consult office in Kamp-Lintfort. Doors will open at 6pm, sessions will start at 6:15pm and we would be happy to spend some time and share a "Bratwurst" with you after the sessions and have some friendly chats about technology, the past year and whatever feels interesting.
To help us plan how many sausages are needed, please register for the event using the meetup link or contact me via gmu@sqlpass.de until 1st of December 9pm. Of course you are still welcome to join without registration, but we might not have enough food for you.
Both speakers are happy to deliver the sessions in English if we have any non-German-speaking attendees!
Looking forward to seeing you next week,
Margarita, Klaus and Gabi
If you are not able to say no, then it does not only affect you - even when you‘re not in a leadership role. It affects your environment too. So what to do, if you have a hard time?
In this session I want to emphasize the importance of saying no. To show the positive effects on oneself, the people around and also the projects. It always means saying „yes“ to something else.
Additionally I also want to give communication tools that can be used in the daily business, where politics plays a crucial role. And to be frank? Politics in business can be the hardest. So much to think about!
I want to give you some guidelines to walk through the business and project jungle, meeting your own and your stakeholders expectations without others to feel rejected and throwing stones in your way.

Her current role focuses as a Manger on the Experience working on and with the Enterprise Data Lake Platform. For this it is important to understand the customer and developer needs with a structured approach and sensitivity in communication.
She also tries to contribute in different diversity initiatives internal as external to help people understand different perspectives.
Databricks Lakebase is the PostGreSQL offering in Databricks. Klaus will share first impressions about this offering.
